Lucille Dearest

This letter was written to GG by Grandpa Lloyd.

Lucille Dearest,

I've been a thinkin'. We've been together nearly 49 years under 9 different presidents of our country and 7 prophets. We've seen three great wars and one quick one.

We've lived in 19 different homes, been in 19 different states, 21 countries and at the border of three more.

We've been active temple workers for ten years with a few short vacations and one sick leave.

We've received 5 children and 18 grandchildren. We've sustained each other through one Bishop's assignment and 2 relief Society Presidencies (plus 1 doctoral dissertation) and many other church responsibilites.

We've lost a father, two mothers, 1 uncle and 2 aunts, whose last days and final care were our basic responsibilities.

We've been through blood transfusions, chemotherapy, operations and more.

Through all of this you have cared for the house, my clothes, my meals, our children and me. You've ignored my irritating habits, tolerated my thoughtlessness, my impatience, my driving, my failure to do all the nice little things that any good husband would.

It's a good thing that our marriage is for eternity--It'll take nearly that long for me to make it all up to you - give me an eternity - and I will.

Please try to know how much I love you!

Lloyd
